“Tensions Rise: Iran Reportedly Deploys Naval Mines in Strait of Hormuz, Threatening Global Oil Routes”

Reports citing U.S. intelligence sources say has begun laying naval mines in the , sparking serious concerns about global shipping and energy supplies.

According to the report, the operation is believed to be carried out by Iran’s (IRGC), using small vessels capable of rapidly deploying mines in the narrow waterway.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most critical maritime routes in the world, with nearly 20% of global oil shipments passing through the strait every day. At its narrowest point, the passage is only about 21 miles (34 km) wide, meaning even a limited number of naval mines could severely disrupt commercial shipping and global trade.
