Tragedy at Haryana Secretariat: Senior Secretary of IAS Officer Dies by Suicide After Jump from Sixth Floor
A shocking incident unfolded at the Haryana Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh when a senior staff member working with an IAS officer died by suicide after jumping from the sixth floor of the building.
The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Das Arora, who served as the Special Senior Secretary to IAS officer Hitesh Kumar Meena. According to initial information, Arora jumped from the sixth floor of the secretariat complex, leading to his death.
Sources revealed that Arora had reportedly attempted suicide about 15 days earlier as well. Following that incident, he had been on leave for some time. The reasons behind his distress are still not officially confirmed.
What makes the incident even more tragic is that Arora was reportedly only nine months away from retirement. Colleagues described him as an experienced officer who had been working in the administrative system for years.
Police and officials reached the spot soon after the incident and began an investigation. Authorities are trying to determine the circumstances that led to the suicide, while statements from colleagues and staff members are also being collected.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the Haryana Secretariat, where employees and officials expressed deep sadness over the loss.
